Attention, students around the world! You are invited to participate in the Beyond Tolerance Essay/Film/Rap/Music Video contest.
Essay: Choose to interview someone who is different from you (whether nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religious perspective or other difference), tell us what makes that person special, and what you learned from the experience. Selected essays will be included in a book titled "Becoming Human: What I learned about myself from my neighbor".
Student Films: For students who are more visual than verbal, or who want to try their hand at filmmaking. Choose to interview someone who is different from you (whether nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religious perspective or other difference), tell us what makes that person special, and what you learned from the experience. Selected short films will be globe-cast online and included on a commemorative DVD for distribution.
Tolerance Rap/song submission: A youth-focused song-submission contest that gathers original songs that promote tolerance and humanity, with an emphasis on the "3 R's" of music - Rock, Rural and Rap, in your native language. Selected performers will be included on a compilation CD, with the opportunity to perform at the global "Human Family" party, to be held on November 16, and globe-cast live all over the world.
Music Video Contest: Download one of the songs from the website and create a cool video for it. Winners will have their work included on a DVD release, eligible for television airplay and shown at Tolerance Day festivities.
